May 19, 2007 - Webmasters of small and large companies are learning that the secret to web site popularity is obtaining many links to their site on other web sites, which is something they can do without spending thousands for an outside consultant.
Reciprocal linking is simply the process of two web sites exchanging links in order to benefit from cross promotion and exposure on other sites. Site A places a hyperlink to Site B and Site B places a link to Site A in exchange. Both sites promote each other equally to web surfers as well as to search engines, which help each site to gain in popularity rankings.

The automated program was used to create the link section of the ZYTO site at www.zyto.com/links/ where other web site owners can place a free link to their site. The program also does most of the work to manage the links, saving webmasters time and effort.
Jeff Augason is the webmaster for several sites that actively swap links, and he has placed links to all his sites at http://www.zyto.com/links/ and in return Bresnahan has placed links at http://bluechipgroup.net/Links.html and the other sites operated by Augason.
“That is what reciprocal linking is all about,” said Augason. “You help me and I help you. It only takes a few minutes each day, which is well worth the effort. Because of our many link partners our site has much better visibility in the search engines, and that is free advertising.”
