The first school to be granted an award was the Eighteenth Avenue Elementary School of Science and Technology in Newark, NJ. This grant supports a special needs program among second and third graders to help accelerate their use of computers for learning. Comodo is planning on expanding this program to include technology, hardware and other potential services related to authentication to reduce children's exposure to online predators.
Grant recipients will be chosen by the Comodo Grant Review Committee, which is comprised of Comodo employees with diverse backgrounds and range from individual contributors to management level employees. Interested not-for-profit organizations can contact Comodo directly.
