Comic Collector ‘Live’ Is Taking A Bite Out eBay!

Comic book collection system boasts over 40 thousand members opens doors for buying and selling comic books. In just one month, Comic Collector Live is starting to nibble away at e-Bay's comic books sales.

(1888PressRelease) August 09, 2007 - When Comic Collector Live launched its website with the ability to buy and sell comic books on July 6th, it boasted over 40 thousand members and a wish list totaling over half a million issues.

Now, just one month later, the comic book website has grabbed 2% of eBay’s comic book sales. “We only expected to have maybe a half percent of the market in the first couple months as more people come onboard”, says Joe Butler, CEO and creator of Comic Collector Live. “But in about thirty days we’ve done more than we ever expected, and the momentum is trending up!”

While two percent may not seem like much, the comic book website is building a very interesting base of comic book collectors, fans, and physical comic book stores.

“What is so unusual about what Comic Collector Live offers is the ability for anyone to own their very own comic book shop – to go into business without all the investment of owning a brick and mortar location,” beams Butler. “ But we are also partnering with real comic book shops who want to sell excess inventory and back issues and everyone can take advantage of our unique cataloging system and massive database to grow their sales!”

So far it’s easy to understand why Comic Collector Live is making inroads into the commerce of comic books. The organizing software is free and has the kinds of features that collectors, buyers and sellers love. CCL store owners have had overwhelmingly positive reactions.

“We know that the process to become the best place to buy, sell, and collect comics doesn’t happen overnight,” says Butler, “but we are excited about the growth and plan to add one new feature to the system each month over the next year.”

Comic Collector Live offers a variety of services such as private messaging between buyers and sellers, automatic notification when a seller lists an issue that buyers are looking for, and a complete comic book database including cover art that allows users to catalog their collection without having to scan their comic book covers.
