June 21, 2008 - MARSHFIELD, MA - Registration begins in June and is open to members and non-members of the club. Camp Chuckles is a one-week workshop led by local comedian and teacher, Chrissy Kelleher with the help of fellow comedian and Milton High School Social Studies teacher and Drama Coach, Jimmy Bowes. Geared towards middle and high school students, Camp Chuckles is a comedy writing and performing experience that uses improvisation and writing exercises to help kids turn their funny ideas into stories and jokes.
After the week-long session, attendees will perform in front of family and friends in a Camp Chuckles graduation show. Camp Chuckles will be held from August 11th to 15th and the cost is $150. The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield’s purpose is to establish a safe haven for recreation, which includes a variety of supervised activities for greater than 4,000 youths (between the ages of 6 to 18 years old) within the town.
