August 27, 2009 - Oxford Valley Mall recently opened a new family-friendly ceramics painting and decorating store, Color Me Mine, in June which offers art activities for individuals of all ages.
When entering the store on the mall’s upper level near JCPenney, customers can choose their ceramic piece and sketch a design on it; select an underglaze and paint their work of art; and finally pass the product along to a Color Me Mine employee to be put through a seven to ten day kiln-firing process. The finished ceramic pieces are then returned to the customers to be enjoyed and put to use.
“Color Me Mine has something special to offer to people of all ages in regards to decorating ceramic pieces from sushi dishes and piggy banks to vases and kitchen sets,” said store co-owner Patti Omensetter. “We feel our family-oriented environment inspires artistic creativity in the community through hosting events like birthday parties, bridal showers, anniversary parties, corporate team builders, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and more.”
The Oxford Valley Mall location accommodates up to 12 person parties and runs specials throughout the week like two sittings for the price of one on Tuesdays, Ladies Night Out on Thursdays, and Family Day on Saturdays. The store’s hours are reflective of the mall’s daily operations and reservations are not necessary. Color Me Mine also caters to children of different interests with a variety of themed products as well as brides-to-be with gift registry, bridal shower and bridal party gift items.
“We believe that Color Me Mine is a great addition to this center,” said Patricia Gillett, Oxford Valley Mall Marketing Manager. “Oxford Valley has always been the type of mall that is as much a family and community meeting place as it is a shopping destination so having a store where people can create and interact as well as shop really fits who we are.”
