Colonial Bank's Loftin Promoted To Senior Area President

Colonial Bank's Robert Loftin will oversee banking initiatives in the West Coast Florida region.


(1888PressRelease) April 30, 2009 - Colonial Bank announced the promotion of Robert A. Loftin to senior area president responsible for the bank’s retail banking initiatives in the West Coast Florida region.

Loftin joined the company in 2007 as Polk County president following the acquisition of Citrus & Chemical Bank where he served as chief operating officer. He has held a number of management roles in his 29-year banking career including commercial lending and retail area manager for Barnett Bank; Financial Center manager for BB&T Bank; and senior voce president of commercial lending at Platinum Bank.

“Robert has a proven track record of driving performance through strong execution and consistency of our retail strategies,” said Brian Nicholas, president and CEO of Commercial Lending, Florida West Coast region. “I know he will be successful in continuing to build our business in our Florida West Coast market.”

Loftin received his undergraduate business degree from the University of Arkansas. He also is a 2008 graduate from the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania. Loftin has been active in the Polk County community for many years, currently serving as vice chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors for the Salvation Army and a long-term member of the Lakeland South Rotary Club where he is a past president.
