Collectors Group Seeks Help in Lighthouse Preservation Fund Raiser

Fund raising effort to benefit lighthouse preservation groups in the U. S.

(1888PressRelease) April 26, 2009 - Harbour Lights retailers and collectors have teamed up in an effort to raise funds for U. S. lighthouse preservation. Collector Forums, a meeting place for Harbour Lights collectors and lighthouse enthusiasts, along with The Cape Cod Store.com and Bronze Lady of Orlando, Florida kicked off the fund raiser on April 21st.

“Each year, the Collector Forums runs a fund raiser of some sort among its members to raise funds for a lighthouse preservation group in the U. S.”, says Roland Babineau, owner of The Cape Cod Store.com and Collector Forums member. “This year, we are taking our fund raising effort one step farther and bringing it to the general public.”

“This year's Collector Forums fund raiser will not only help the efforts of a number of non-profit lighthouse preservation groups throughout the U. S., but donors to this year's Opportunity Drawing will be able to win some very rare Harbour Lights lighthouse collectible replicas, as well as a very rare Anchor Bay model ship collectible, as well. In addition, one hundred percent of the money raised through this fund raiser will be donated to lighthouse preservation!”

The rare Anchor Bay piece is a 1997 Regular Edition Motor Yacht Kim, which is one of only 13 of its kind known to exist. Other prizes include rare whiteware, (unpainted), Harbour Lights lighthouse replicas which were used as gifts for past Harbour Lights collectors' excursions called “reunions”. Also included in the drawing is a rare artist proof of Harbour Lights' popular Cedar Point, OH Lighthouse replica, complete with roller coaster.

In all, 13 Harbour Lights and Anchor Bay prizes are available to be won. Each piece is estimated to be worth between $75.00 and $600.00 (The Kim).

“All of the retired replica prizes have been donated by Collector Forums members from their personal collections,” adds Collector Forums member Rich Felter.“ In addition, The Bronze Lady and The Cape Cod Store.com have donated some brand new Harbour Lights releases which haven't even been officially announced by the company as of yet! Each donor is also paying the shipping to the winner, as well, which isn't always the case in a drawing of this type.”

The lighthouses which are in line to be aided by this fund raising effort are Jones Point, VA, New Canal, LA, Fort Gratiot, MI, Execution Rocks, NY, Toledo Harbor, OH, and Ashtabula OH.

Those who wish to donate and be eligible to win one of these outstanding prizes can visit the Opportunity Drawing website at http://www.thecapecodstore.com/opportunity_drawing/header

To be eligible for prizes, donations must be received by August 15, 2009.
