Animal Aid Inc. strives to rescue as many dogs and cats as their manpower and donations allow. Its volunteers fight an uphill battle each day with limited resources, trying to improve the odds of stray and unwanted animals throughout South Florida. "Sadly, more than 15 million animals are put down in shelters throughout the U.S. each year," says Animal Aid Inc. president Tamera DeMello. "South Florida is one of the largest contributors to this tragedy; free and affordable spay/neuter programs, along with public education is key to success."
