April 19, 2009 - Authored by Coach Brian Williams, the Practice Report is a free resource available http://www.coachesacademy.net/go.php?c=pr
The Practice Report addresses a challenge that all teams face; maintaining a competitive atmosphere in practices. this particular problem is magnified for many basketball programs in the off season. Players are expected to place a premium on individual skill development but often struggle to stay motivated without the excitement of the next game that is ever-present during basketball season. The Practice Report helps coaches overcome these challenges using simple, concrete action steps.
Coaches Academy maintains a commitment to providing unparalleled learning opportunities to all aspiring basketball coaches. Despite basketball's enormous popularity, there are no clear systems in place for coaches to advance their learning. Some coaches are fortunate to receive informal training from exceptional mentors. Most, however, must learn their craft in a piecemeal fashion, through various videos or books.
Josh Stinson of Coaches Academy states, "The experience of being mentored by a great coach can be life-changing".
Coaches Academy brings this kind of mentoring opportunities to coaches through a 12 month coaching program. The coaching staff has over 70 years combined coaching experience at the NBA, Division 1 NCAA High School, and Youth Levels. Using monthly webinars, extensive video footage, and interactive coaches forum, detailed illustrations, audio roundtable discussions, and other media to deliver 12 coaching modules, coaches now enjoy personal, extended access to coaching materials that before was only available in books and video.
