September 22, 2007 - Cruinniú 07 is a gathering of people concerned with 'the business of being a musician', and will be attended by musicians, performers, entrepreneurs and people working in the area of music performance, promotion and development.
Contributors to this year's event include Martin Hayes (Musician), Paddy Moloney (The Chieftains), Donald Shaw (Celtic Connections, Capercailie) and Bob Donnelly (USA Music Attorney).
Mayor of Clare Cllr. Patricia McCarthy welcomed the launch of the bursary initiative.
She stated, "Cruinniú will provide a much-needed opportunity for musicians to develop their professional skills, to pool information and to create individual and collective opportunities."
According to Tara Connaghan, Traditional Arts Officer with the Clare Arts Office, “Events at Cruinniú 07 will include a range of presentations, panel debates, open forum discussions and workshops.”
"In addition to lunchtime concerts, sessions and an exciting showcase concert, Cruinniú 07 will coincide with the Ennis Tradfest, November 8 – 12, 2007, featuring a packed programme of events that will attract musicians and music-lovers from all over the world", added Ms. Connaghan.
Clare Arts Office bursaries are available on a first come, first serve basis to musicians/performers from or resident in Clare.
