September 27, 2007 - Bert Munoz’s lively blend of geometric overlapping, dramatic color, and bold use of floating spheres seem emblematic of the never-ending circles of life. Bert Munoz creates paintings which transcend gender and ethnicity; the focus on internal energy and essence allows its beauty to be reflected and its soul exposed. His personal philosophies drive the method of transporting his audience to another place, if only for a moment.
While in the U.S. Navy, drawing landscape scenes from memory he managed to escape from the chaos that military life can be; thus realizing his gift to suspend reality. Bert appears successful in his quest of presenting life in a different perspective, while still allowing life to shape his art. Although he claims that the only place he feels complete is “at home, surrounded by my paintings”, Bert is equally comfortable as a graphic designer. His work has been exhibited in galleries, art shows and hotels throughout Texas.
