September 23, 2008 - ATLANTA - Cascade Area Youth Prepare for Adulthood. “CRoP is dedicated to contributing to the community’s success and encouraging Atlanta youth to become involved,” said Ida Crook, program founder. “Our youth have put in hours of hard work and we know they are prepared for a life full of victory.”
In just one year, CRoP youth have mastered development lessons, attended cultural activities and completed thousand of hours of community service. The group also held its first yard sale donating left over items to charity.
The entire community is invited to join the celebration. Jaquitta Williams, WSB-TV/Channel 2 News Reporter and Evening Anchor will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Other notable invitees include Congressman John Lewis, Ambassador Andrew Young, Fulton County School Superintendent Dr. Christy Loe, Cobb County School Superintendent Joseph Redding and Mayor Shirley Franklin.

About Christian Rites of Passage
Founded in 2003 by Ida Ruth Irwin Crook, the Christian Rites of Passage is a 12-month leadership program that encourages youth to faithfully serve and uplift their community. Students graduate after learning 12 Rites of Passage and participating in the Debutante and Beau Recognition Celebration Ball.
