  • (1888PressRelease) March 13, 2009 - Chateau de Bangkok has begun a new trend in Bangkok accommodation providers, taking measures to create a more personal, informal culture and a relaxed guest experience. The change has focused especially on the hotel's two restaurants, Panorama and Paparazzi.

Panorama Terrace is situated on the 14th floor of the Bangkok hotel. The menus have recently been changed to simple chalkboard versions, and a new policy of making food to order that is not on the menu has recently been implemented. "We try to prepare anything customers want, including Thai dishes", says Marc Schaub, Chateau de Bangkok's General Manager. Customers can order dishes from the Italian 'Paparazzi' restaurant downstairs, and these can be brought up to Panorama.

Prices at Panorama Terrace are similarly relaxed, with starters available from 160TB (US$4.40 at current rates), and main courses available for around 800TB (US$22).

Uniforms have been relaxed at Chateau de Bangkok also. The General Manager explains why he stopped wearing a tie to work: "We want our guests to relax and enjoy themselves. If I wear a tie, it seems stiff and formal. We are a friendly place that specializes in personalized service and we want to communicate this to our customers."

This culture of customer service and personalization is a smart business decision, according to Carol Verret, consultant to the hospitality industry. "A guest can feel a 'culture' within a hotel", she says. "Customer service is the challenge of the day", Verret continues.

Chateau de Bangkok's policy changes touch on several aspects of the key factors in customer loyalty - a conscious decision, according to Marc Schaub. "The six key factors of customer loyalty are core offering (including service), satisfaction, demographics, the marketplace, the share of their wallet, and the company's flexibility."

"Our changes touch on both the core offering, and customer satisfaction, the two most important factors. Competition in Bangkok's hotel sector is fierce, but our customers return time after time, thanks to our service", Mr Schaub continued.
