November 19, 2008 - Bangkok, Thailand – Thailand is one of the fastest growing tourism countries in the world, with one of the highest concentrations of hotels per square kilometer of any city. Chateau de Bangkok has recently been ranked in the top 25% of these hotels, beating out hotels with price tags up to five times the Chateau's.
The ongoing survey is provided by tripadvisor.com, which boasts huge numbers of visitors to the website. More than 12,000,000 travellers, from 190 countries planned trips at the site in the week leading up to the survey results, according to TripAdvisor. Tripadvisor, along with Expedia, won a best website award in the Zagat's 2009 US Hotels, Resorts & Spas Survey. The number of Tripadvisor members has jumped from 5 million at the beginning of 2008, to 9 million in October 2008.
Chateau de Bangkok was ranked above the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, whose average price was 35% higher than the Chateau's. It was also ranked higher than Maduzi, whose average price at $411 as listed on tripadvisor, was 80% above Chateau de Bangkok. The Sofitel Centara Grand also costs an average of 35% more than rooms at Chateau de Bangkok, and garnered a lower ranking than it.
30% of travellers who ranked Chateau de Bangkok gave it the highest possible rating - five out of five. A further 40% gave the hotel four out of five stars. Comments included "I could not have been happier with my stay", " the room had definite wow factor … it was fantastic, bigger than my house in the uk … the location was ideal", and " Excellent Hotel with friendly staff. 5 thumbs up".
