Cell Phone Video Abuse Exposed In New Publication

Contraband, a new fictional graphic novel by Thomas J Behe and Phil Elliott, arrives in UK bookstores today.

(1888PressRelease) February 22, 2008 - A near-future tale revealing an all-too-possibly-real world of underground video, violence and crime on mobile phone networks, Contraband (http://www.contrabandcomic.com) follows a young man's journey into a new "voyeur underground", where profit-hungry youths prowl streets secretly filming radical events with mobile devices to satisfy society's demand for sensational on-the-go content.

By highlighting the social implications of increasingly occuring incidents of privacy invasion and mobile bullying, Contraband provides a unique insight into today's use and abuse of wireless technology by youths and mobile network operators alike.

James Lovegrove from the Financial Times says, "Behe's dialogue brings a hip, hyper-real energy to his plot, while Elliott's deceptively plain artwork evokes a shabby world of compromised morals."

Leonie Moore from Comics International notes, "Contraband has a great underlying premise, based around the use/misuse of camera phones, loss of privacy and the boom in the spy cam industry that this generates."

Published by SLG Publishing,Contraband (ISBN #978-1593621018) arrives in the UK this week and is available now in the US and Canada at http://www.amazon.com.
