October 14, 2009 - MomTV.com, the first streaming video destination site for Moms to create, share, and learn via video and live streaming video web chat shows is proud to host Celebrity cosmetic dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman, who is probably best known as the featured dentist on the hit ABC series, “Extreme Makeover,” and a guest co-host on the syndicated daytime talk show, “The Doctors,” on their “Your Causes” show to talk about his philanthropic endeavors Tuesday, October 13 on the MomTV Live Network at 6 p.m. PST and 9 p.m. EST.
Dr. Dorfman, who is also an inventor and entrepreneur, is the founder of Discus Dental, Inc. the worlds leading manufacturer and distributor of tooth-whitening, oral hygiene and aesthetic dental products. Among his other creations are the popular teeth whitening products Nite White and Day White. Most recently his company has launched the in-office whitening systems, Zoom! and Brite Smile. Dr. Dorfman is also a world -renowned lecturer and author of the best selling cosmetic dentistry book, “The Smile Guide,” and the New York Times bestseller, “Billion Dollar Smile.” Dr. Dorfman has been the recipient of six lifetime achievement awards. He is frequently called upon by the media as an expert and has been interviewed by Good Morning America, Oprah, The View, Dr. Phil. As well as being written up in countless magazines. He is also a repeat judge for the Miss USA Beauty Pageant.
MomTV had the honor of interviewing Dr. Dorfman about the causes that are close to his heart. The LEAP Foundation (LEAP—Leadership, Excellence and Accelerating YOUR Potential) is a summer scholarship program he co-founded to help students and young adults obtain valuable life skills they wouldn’t otherwise learn in a traditional classroom setting. During the interview he also discussed Smiles for Life Foundation, a children’s charity organization of the Crown Council that he is involved in that helps children facing serious health conditions and educational deficiencies.
Dr. Dorfman is also dedicated to helping the Los Angeles Battered Women’s Shelter, a downtown refuge that helps survivors of harrowing physical violence heal and rejoin the world. He has helped restore the smiles of rape victims, former prostitutes, drug addicts, and abused wives, among others. Most recently he traveled to South Africa to raise money and awareness for Tomorrow’s Trust, a non-profit organization that helps orphaned children affected by HIV and AIDS.
