Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2008 - Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan (JA) will host “Celebrate JA Champions” on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the JA Headquarters in downtown Detroit. The event highlights the organizations and individuals that make the difference in our community. The event is open to the public; limited sponsorships and individual tickets are still available for purchase by contacting Blythe Spitsbergen at (313) 962-5685 or bspitsbergen ( @ ) jamichigan dot org dot

Junior Achievement is teaching Michigan’s young people how to be financially responsible, successful adults. In this economy, there is no better way to make change happen then by focusing on the future leaders, employees and citizens of our community," said Linda Orlans, president of eTitle and co-chair of the event.

Celebrate JA Champions is an opportunity to network with JA’s generous friends and supporters, while recognizing the need for continuing the challenging work of changing kids’ lives by providing the financial tools and business skills that will allow them to develop into successful adults. In addition, money raised at the event will allow Junior Achievement to continue its important work in the community. Junior Achievement is the world's largest and fastest growing organization dedicated to educating young people about financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship.

Through age-appropriate curricula, JA programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers. JA programs continue through the middle and high school grades, preparing students for additional key economic and workforce issues they will face in the future. In Southeastern Michigan, more than 1,600 JA volunteers reach out to over 30,000 students throughout 10 counties in the metropolitan areas of Detroit and Flint.
