CC West Printing Has Gone Green

CC West has recently invested in new equipment for green chem-free printing. Along with the change in equipment, CC West has opted to join the Austin Energy Program to save energe, money and mother Earth.

Austin-San Marcos, TX (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2011 - CC West Printing -- an Austin based printing and display company -- is helping to decrease their carbon footprint by going green within the notoriously difficult printing industry. For the last 15 years, CC West has strived to balance its mission as both a leading resource for fast-turnaround wide format and four-color reproduction while adopting environmentally sustainable production technologies.

Though costly, CC West recently invested over a hundred thousand dollars in new platemaking equipment, upgrading to the latest system from Heidelberg and bringing to Austin one of the first true ALL Green chem-free metal platemaking solutions. "The Suprasetter A52/A75 has the lowest energy consumption in the small-format thermal plate-setter class. It also has the lowest heat output. This in turn has a positive effect on the energy balance, as no additional air-conditioning is required for ambient temperatures of up to 30 degrees celcius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). The minimal electricity requirement provides substantial long term cost savings along with being environmentally friendly." This makes a big difference in the amount of energy required to run and maintain a major piece of machinery and CC West is proud to be taking steps to set a new standard in Print and Display work.

Along with the change in equipment, CC West opted for high efficiency lighting, an energy savings of up to 30%. With a facility that is now over 15,000 square feet- that's a lot of energy use at a time where La Nina's inhumane temperatures have sky rocketed Austin's energy consumption. James Diorio of CC West decided "this summer of 3 digit temperatures is the perfect time to opt into the Austin Energy program and really start saving- energy, and money."
