The workshop will be held Wednesday, March 18th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wayne Elks Club (50 Hinchman Ave, Wayne, NJ 07470).

This workshop will provide valuable college planning information for all parents and students as they take this important step of applying to colleges, accepting the right college offer, and paying for college wisely with lower costs and higher financial aid.

Seating will be limited, so please reserve your date and time early. Families can register by calling 888-802-2740 or visiting www.cbrg.info.

Topics that will be discussed include:
How to guide students in knowing which colleges to apply to
How to apply effectively to increase your chances of getting into your desired school
The top 5 things you should know before applying to the colleges
How to get scholarships from the desired college of choice
How to balance the cost of education vs. the value of the degree earned.
    How to pay for college
    Different types of financial aid
MOST IMPORTANTLY: how your family may be able to save tens of thousands of dollars on college tuition

Co-founded by Steven Sirot and David N. Slater and joined by their partner, Certified Educational Planner (CEP), Janet Loren, CBRG demonstrates how a private and/or public education is affordable and attainable and allows hard working families to hit a "home run" in finding the right school, academically, socially and financially, for their child. CBRG also assists with the filing of financial aid forms.

"We are different from other college planning services in that we offer "harmonization" of financial, educational and social guidance for the entire family," says Steven Sirot."We meet jointly with students and parents to develop a college game plan that works for everyone. Too often college students attend a school because their friends are there, or it is the so-called 'hot school' that is on everyone's radar, without any consideration of whether the school is right for them or the long-term effect it will have on family finances. We work hard with the entire family to let students know that going to college is a responsible decision that affects the whole family, and there are no 'free rides.' The student will be responsible for their academic success in college, which includes graduating in four years, and for paying back of some loans that may need to be taken out in their name."

College Benefits Research Group's community workshops are held throughout the state and explain in detail many strategies one can employ to find the best college "fit" for your child. Steven Sirot and David N. Slater, MBA are Charter Members of the National College Advocacy Group (NCAG). Janet Loren holds professional memberships in the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA); the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC); the New Jersey Association for College Admissions Counseling (NJACAC); the Higher Education Counselors Association (HECA) and the National College Advocacy Group (NCAG).
