December 05, 2006 - This month, Mike Montpetit, president of Cary NC real estate firm Town and Country Realty Inc., was awarded the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation by the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council. As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Montpetit is certified to assist seniors in making wise decisions about the real estate issues unique to those in their retirement years.
Introduced in 1997 by the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council, the SRES designation is awarded to realtors who make seniors an important focus of their business and demonstrate the requisite knowledge, experience and expertise to earn the nationally recognized designation.
“It concerns me that seniors in Cary could be targets for some of the unscrupulous profiteers out there,” says Montpetit. “I felt it was important that seniors here in Cary have someone they can count on beyond a doubt for honest, factual advice about some the most important decisions they’ll make during their retirement years.”

His grandfather’s brokerage, Crown Realty, sold homes to many of the now retired couples that Montpetit consults with today about options for selling their home, buying rental property, obtaining reverse mortgages, and managing capital gains taxes.
