December 04, 2007 - The 10th Carrefour International du Bois (International Timber Trade Show) will be held in Nantes (in western France) from 28 to 30 May 2008. Unique in Europe, this biennial event has become the leading international trade fair for timber professionals looking for wood varieties from all over the world.
The Carrefour International du Bois 2008 will once again bring together both French and international products under one roof for three days. Exhibitors will include sawyers, industrial manufacturers, panel and parquet manufacturers, building-product suppliers, merchants and import-export agents. During the 2006 event, 9,000 visitors, including 15% from outside France, were able to meet 470 exhibitors from 28 countries.
In order to respond to the continued growth in timber construction in Europe, a special area dedicated to building products was launched in 2006 – the Timber Techniques & Solutions Area. This area will be further developed in 2008, and will bring together the entire range of semi-transformed products (including timber frames, I-beams, parquet, panels and timber construction kits). Meetings with exhibitors and technical conferences will also be organised to respond to the ever-growing requirements of building professionals.
Carrefour International du Bois meets the needs of both visitors who specialise in the timber trade and exhibitors who manufacture timber products. The event offers visitors and exhibitors a welcoming atmosphere, thanks also to a well-spaced exhibition area featuring stands that are limited in size, meaning that all attendees – from SMEs to multinationals – can interact on an equal footing.
