March 23, 2009 - Temecula based acquisition firm Carpe Diem Hotels, Inc. has formally submitted offers to purchase the Tides Hotel and the Days Inn in Melbourne, Florida. Carlo Aguas, Chief Executive Officer of Carpe diem Hotels, Inc., said Thursday, March 19th “We have been in the market for hospitality properties and believe that the Tides Hotel and the Days Inn are a step in the right direction for our company.” Carlo also added; “We have a great Management Team, Matthew Brooks who heads up operations is one of the best hoteliers I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Matthew has extensive experience and a true natural talent in maximizing potential in projects like these.”
Matthew Brooks, Chief Operating Officer of Carpe diem Hotels, Inc., had this to say: “We are always looking out to invest in properties, such as these, which have the potential to be successful despite the current climate. Our commitment will always be to properties where we can help existing staff to make the very best of hotels which may be in difficulties despite their loyal efforts.”
Matthew has over 25 years of experience in hotel management in London, England.
Carpe diem Hotels is hoping to solidify its dealings with the Tides Hotel, which is currently in foreclosure, and the Days Inn, which is currently in receivership, by the FDIC by the end of month. Mr. Aguas said: “We are simply looking forward to receiving the green light to get our team out to Florida and start our due diligence on the two properties.“
Carpe diem Hotels, Inc. is actively pursuing hospitality projects in Florida. Carpe diem Hotels is currently in talks with Triangle Management, in Miami, regarding the purchase of the Clarion Water Park and Resort and the Howard Johnson in Kissimmee, Florida. Carlo said: “We are committed to each and every project we pursue. Our interest in the Kissimmee properties have no influence on the purchase of these two properties, I believe this just shows the level of commitment our company has in pursuing a legitimate and viable hospitality property.”
