Career Athletes to Launch First National Media Campaign

Integrated Television, Digital and Social Media Campaigns to Drive Brand Awareness and Site Registrations for CareerAthletes.com.

Kansas City, MO-KS (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2009 - Career Athletes, the leading career education and resource provider for graduating and alumni collegiate athletes, is launching its first ever television and digital media campaign this fall. To coincide with the height of the college football season, Career Athletes is targeting former and current college athletes via an integrated media campaign, including television, digital and social media extensions.

"For more than a decade, Career Athletes has been helping thousands of former college athletes find jobs and make important professional connections," said Chris Smith, CEO of Career Athletes. "While we’ve done a great job growing our community through on-campus outreach, mentor programs and through word of mouth, the goal of this new campaign is to take the online community of Career Athletes to another level.”

The campaign, which includes television and digital spots, highlights former athletes who have used the free service to connect with teammates, receive career advice, mentor younger colleagues and most importantly, find jobs. All spots will air exclusively on the Big Ten Network and Comcast Sports Net in live content programming, as well as via several digital and social media extensions, including college websites via the Big Ten Network and CBS Interactive.

“By executing our campaign via online, on air and digital extensions, we expect to reach a broad segment of our niche athlete audience,” said Smith. “The bottom line is it doesn’t matter what age you are, what sport you played or what level you played at – if you are a former or current college athlete, you need to be a member of CareerAthletes.com.”

Beginning on October 6, the Career Athletes integrated campaign will continue to run through the remainder of the college football season and into the early months of college basketball season.
