June 11, 2009 - The £1 Challenge, which is entering its final month, has been given a much needed boost thanks to the team at Ezemail, who turned around a HTML promotional flyer in record time and even provided free credits to help The £1 Challenge spread its message to the masses.
The £1 Challenge is a unique and potentially record-breaking charitable campaign to raise £1 million for The British Heart Foundation through the pledging of 1 million unique donations. It was created by comedy actor Steve Trister after experiencing first hand the effects of heart disease when visiting a close family friend in hospital.
The £1 Challenge HTML flyer will start circulating on Wednesday 10th June and Richard Pay, Director of Ezemail is encouraging people to help spread the word amongst their friends, family and social networks.
“The £1 Challenge is one of those really inspiring campaigns which depends on people promoting the challenge within their networks and communities. The £1 Challenge HTML flyer will make it even quicker and easier to pass the message on via email and help make this challenge a record-breaker,” says Richard Pay.
The £1 Challenge already has a dedicated fan page on Facebook, the support of social business network Ecademy and thousands of followers on Twitter. It’s recent ‘£1 Challenge Hastagathon’ on Twitter helped the challenge rank as high as 4th on Twitter trends for over several hours earlier this week, with more Hastagathon’s planned in coming weeks.
Steve Trister, founder of The £1 Challenge says,
“Heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK and we will all be touched by it some point in the future either directly, or through our family and friends. It dawned on me why should we wait until it happens to us or someone we care about, when we can all make the difference simply by donating £1? Supporting The £1 Challenge has never been easier, as we now have PayPal and donate by text and thanks to Ezemail, our new HTML flyer will be yet another way to help spread the word and bring us closer to our goal.”
According to The British Heart Foundation, a donation of £1 million from The £1 Challenge could fund 666 defribillators, 121 hours of scientific research or 20 portable echocardiograph machines.
