April 15, 2008 - After years of creating successful camping experiences for fathers and their children, Camp Connect is now seeking to include fathers with special needs children. The Australian Camp Connect Association (ACCA) is currently organizing a Dads and Kids Camp specifically for fathers and their special needs children.
Inspired by a Landmark Education programme, father of two Brad Mander created Camp Connect to help dads remain connected with their children. The ACCA continues to be a community resource for fathers looking to remain connected with their children and connect them to service providers within their community. The ACCA’s main purpose is to run camps and programs directly allowing fathers and their children to deepen their relationship with one another.
The ACCA was founded by Brad Mander based on his own experience as a divorced Dad, and began as a project in Landmark Education’s Self-Expression and leadership programme, which coaches participants on producing projects which make a positive impact on society.
Camp Connect continues to get known and recognised for the work it does for fathers and their children amongst the different service providers within the community. To get a sense of the ACCA’s many accomplishments, projects and partners, or to get involved visit http://campconnect.org.au.
