  • San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) February 18, 2011 - Caminar, a nonprofit agency providing community based support for people with disabilities, announced today the election of Richard Van Doren, Jr., Cristina E. Cuzman, and Marie Koerper to its Board of Directors.

    "We are very pleased to announce the continued expansion of Caminar's Board of Directors to include three new members adding to the diverse talents of our current board. We brought on seven board members in April of 2010 and are glad to have three new members today. Their professional expertise, interest and related experience in community based nonprofits are welcomed and appreciated as we continue to develop our programs and services. We look forward to their individual and collective contributions to help further the mission of Caminar in our efforts to serve individuals with disabilities," speaking on behalf of the entire Board, Caminar Board President Michael Paolercio stated.

    Richard Van Doren, Jr., CFO at Marcato Capital, has a wide range of expertise in investment management, including finance, accounting, operational and risk management development and implementation. Previously, Rich has been the CFO at Cannell Capital LLC, where he was responsible for the management company and the fund's operations, compliance & risk management, financial accounting and tax functions, investor relations and overall financial growth of the company. He has also been the a Member and Trustee of the Hartland Trust Company and the Accounting and Finance Manager at EXP Systems, Inc., a software technology company. Rich received his B.S. degree in Finance from the USF McLaren College of Business, Vice President Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He currently resides in Hillsborough with his wife and two children.

    Cristina E. Cuzman is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in San Mateo. She previously worked at Tano Capital, LLC as a Research and Operations Analyst for the Hedge Fund using her expertise in the areas of marketing, research and trading; she has also been a Professional Ski Instructor in Tahoe, CA. Cristina has her Law Degree, a CA Real Estate License, and a MBA in Finance. She current lives in Burlingame and is originally from Romania. With Cristina's wide-array of professional and interpersonal skills, Caminar is proud to have her on the Board.

    Marie Koerper is an active and engaged community mental health advocate. Marie has held several leadership positions at San Mateo County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, including President, Vice President, and Board Director. She has also worked as an Administrator for the San Jose Unified School District in the Nutrition and Food Services Division. Marie has a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Public Affairs from Notre Dame de Namur University. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science from San Jose State University.
