Boulder, CO (1888PressRelease) October 14, 2009 - The National Center for Craftsmanship (NCC) invites local craftspeople, architects, designers, carpenters, builders, contractors, painters, faux finishers, artists, etc., and the public to a kick-off event for its Boulder chapter on October 20, at Invironments. Jodi Feinhor-Dennis, owner/designer of Invironments, has volunteered to lead the local chapter.

Founded in Fort Collins, NCC is dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and sustainability of quality craftsmanship in America. The organization created the Craftsmanship Network, which is a comprehensive website where tradespeople can form strategic local alliances and where the public can search for professionals. It’s like an Angie’s List meets Yellow Pages.

NCC also provides education, training, community service and research to support the retention and extension of craft skills at the local, regional and national levels. NCC’s DeConstruct educational program teaches construction skills and removes materials for reuse/recycling while reducing landfill waste.

The October 20th event is an opportunity for tradespeople in and around Boulder to discover how the Craftsmanship Network can support and increase their businesses. NCC founders will give a short presentation about the organization’s mission and how they help to build networks within communities. The public is invited to this event and will learn how they can utilize the network to find local professionals.
