  • San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2011 - California College San Diego (CCSD) hosted the ATI Allied Health Education Enrichment Conference (EEC) at its campus on June 24. The complimentary full-day conference focused on professional development for health educators. Conference sessions included frank discussions on health education, record keeping, new state regulations, and job-seeking tips.

This is the first year CCSD, a leading provider of healthcare degrees in San Diego for several years, has hosted the event at its campus. Currently the campus offers various health-related degree programs including healthcare administration, respiratory therapy, and nursing administration.

"The EEC is a terrific interactive and collaborative conference," said Erick Asero, the director of Career Services at California College San Diego. "Having educational opportunities to learn best practices, gain new knowledge, and sharpen one's skills is critical for health professionals. Lifelong learning can be formal, such as earning a certificate or advanced degree, or it can be casual like the EEC. Either way, continuing education is a benefit for health professionals as well as the people they serve."

The conference, launched by ATI Allied Health, an Ascend Learning company, is designed specifically for allied health educators and serves as a forum for sharing best practices and experiences, and gaining a thorough understanding of relevant issues in healthcare. Sessions included:

    • Neo-Millennial Learners
    • Maximizing Success for Certification Use Among Students
    • Electronic Health Records and "What Works"
    • Increasing "Good" Enrollments and Retention Measures
    • New CA State Regulations: BPPE-What You Need to Know
    • Regulatory and Legislative Changes
    • What Employers Are Looking For
