May 19, 2008 - Luigi Moccia, Director, said that “the report shows how seriously Calashock takes Social Responsibility”. He added: “CSR goes further than donating money to charities and associations at the end of the year – it is about a year-long commitment for which we take responsibility of the local environment and ethical working practices”.
Having recently moved into new offices in Barnet, the company implemented its CSR report to ensure it was operating ethically and responsibly. In the report, the company discusses its energy efficiency measures and recycling guidelines – nothing that can be recycled is thrown away.
However, the report does not solely focus on the environmental impact of the business. Now that the business has moved into larger premises it can accommodate students and placement staff from local schools. As a past pupil of Finchley Catholic High School in Finchley, Luigi Moccia chose the school for its Work-experience placement scheme. “It is important to give back to the school which taught me a lot about business and enterprise – in a certain way, if it was not for the support and opportunities offered by the school and staff I may not have formed Calashock, and it is important to remember that”.
Finally, the report also talks about philanthropy – with Calashock redesigning a web site for the Finchley Italian Social Club and making regular donations to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
