March 27, 2008 - CA Bio of France, a fashion designer, has developed the Peau-Ethique range of organic, stylish and fair-trade underwear and nightwear for both children and adults.
The Peau-Ethique brand of underwear, nightwear, tights and socks is made from Control Union and IMO-certified organic cotton. The cotton is hand-harvested and cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilisers. It is dyed using Oeko-Tex-certified ecological products – a 100% organic process that gives the cotton anallergic properties.
Peau-Ethique products are soft – the cotton used is designed to protect the skin of the whole family, from newborn babies to adults. The children’s range includes playsuits and bonnets, patterned pyjamas and outfits for boys and girls in pastels or bright colours (printed or silk-screened). The men's range includes three lines of boxer shorts, T-shirts and pyjamas. Finally, the women's lingerie collection includes several collections of pants and bras in a wide variety of shapes, styles and colours. The company also produces a nursing bra. Socks and tights for all ages are also available. These collections are available in organic and fair-trade shops, as well as lingerie stores.
CA Bio is a member of the French Fair-Trade Association (Plate-Forme du Commerce Equitable Français) and works in partnership with a small female-run workshop in Istanbul (Turkey); 90% of its employees are women from the poorer districts of the city. Throughout the manufacturing process, Peau-Ethique carefully ensures transparency, quality and traceability.
