Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease)
July 30, 2008 - Hard rock band By All Means Necessary will open their “Sleep When You’re Dead Tour” on Thursday, July 31st in Long Beach, CA at The Basement Lounge. The tour will play selected club dates across the United States throughout August and September. The “Sleep When You’re Dead Tour” marks the 4th nationwide trek for the band in the past 15 months.
Witnessing the music industry’s double digit declines in record sales since their inception in 2005, By All Means Necessary realized the harsh reality of the music business: In the very near future, there will be no major label record deals to make all their wildest dreams come true. All four band members have worked hard to create a stable business model that continues to grow the band in a volatile industry. Every aspect of the band is divided among each member including branding alliances, booking tours, marketing, new media and operations.
Vocalist Matt Diehm learned web-design and programming and handles the band’s online presence and street team campaigns. Drummer Greg Gerber and guitarist Chris Johansen work as a team to book and promote each nationwide tour. This is a vast undertaking as it includes having to secure the venue in each town and then act as the promoter to create a lineup of local supporting acts on each bill. Bassist Lorenzo Perea designs and builds the band’s elaborate and self-operated stage show including smoke and lighting effects as well as maintaining their RV and trailer totaling 42 feet in length.
While being out on the road, By All Means Necessary has aggressively pushed themselves at radio stations across the country and released a myriad of viral videos and free music downloads on the internet. This has led to large increases in both ticket and merchandise sales. The band then created strategic partnerships with various consumer brands that are supplying the band with additional revenues and exposure. For example, Crunk!!! Energy Drink is sponsoring and co-promoting the “Sleep When You’re Dead” Tour.
“The band created a business model using a multipronged attack to gain exposure across the country while increasing revenues in order to keep expanding their audience”, said manager Andrew Rosenbleet.
Music producer Tomas Costanza said, “The name of the band couldn’t be more on point. Their ambition and drive speaks volumes about the music.”
At the conclusion of this tour, By All Means Necessary plans to record their debut full length album and spend the majority of 2009 touring North America and Europe.
