June 28, 2007 - Business Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka European Business Network, is proud to announce the formation of the first business social network for senior level business and economics professionals connected to and with an interest in business with Sri Lanka. Business Sri Lanka is based in London and in Colombo.
Business Sri Lanka is a Business Social Network of professionals focused on building and developing business opportunities between Sri Lanka and Europe. Membership includes Corporate and Individual members. Members can be based in Europe or Sri Lanka.
Membership is open to senior level business professionals who have a strong track record in business. The Association is available for business and economic consultation and for contributing to initiatives that benefit Sri lanka from a business and economic perspective.
Business Sri lanka is non-political and will operate a strict policy of inclusion. Membership will include Sri Lankans irrespective of ethnic origin or background as well as members from the UK and other European economies.
The Network is in it's formative stages and will begin operating in Q3 2007. It will focus on two areas;
1. Business and Commercial
• Raise awareness of Sri Lanka within the European Business Economic Communities.
• Promote and develop increased trade links between Sri Lanka and Europe.
• Highlight trade and investment opportunities.
• Facilitate business partnerships.
• Act as a reference point for Sri Lankan business and Economic affairs in Europe
2. Business Sri lanka Economic Forum
• Contribute to the strategic economic development of Sri Lanka.
• Contribute to the thought leadership on policy and economic development of Sri Lanka.
Business Sri Lanka is headquartered in London and will hold regular events in London and other European locations. It welcomes enquiries from private and public sector organisations for joint events or strategic partnerships in line with it's aims.
