November 05, 2009 - St. Louis, MO – BSR Gun Shop owners continue to have great success with their local talk show that takes aim at subjects surrounding firearms and more. The show, heard Sundays from 6–7pm addresses all aspects of firearms and shooting in the St. Louis shooting community. “BSR Gun Shop has experienced such growth and support from the local community that this was simply a logical extension for us,” says Amy Chase.
Because BSR Gun Shop deals with new products, it keeps staff members up to date on the many changes within the industry. “It really helps when we discuss topics like conceal / carry issues and gun laws in the bi-state area,” says Steven King. BSR Gun Shop offers NRA classes and private lessons, and this keeps the radio hosts grounded in the needs of the local shooting community. BSR Gun Shop also sponsors and supports local shooting competitions as well as regional and national events, and this provides a wealth of content for many of the weekly shows.
BSR Gun Shop employees are veteran gunsmiths who contribute valuable content as well. Amy Chase is proud of the staff at BSR Gun Shop. “We have employees that are members of The American Gunsmithing Association, Endowment members of the National Rifle Association, life members of the Illinois Rifle Association and members of the SASS.” This type of knowledge is hard to find and Target Talk uses its resources broadly to help the metropolitan shooting community.
Target Talk is even equipped to offer advice and comments on training for security officers in Illinois and Missouri. BSR Gun Shop offers security officer training and twenty hour re-certifications, and this knowledge comes in handy as well. Steven has noticed a significant interest in this topic as the economy has suffered. “There is a lot of interest since this is a growing part of the economy.” The radio show is a ready source for basic information and this allows all types of people who might not otherwise think about this as a long-term opportunity to consider careers that involve shooting.
Target Talk can be heard Sundays at 6pm on The Big 550 KTRS. Steven King and Amy Chase can be contacted through the BSR Gun Shop at 209 North Illinois Street, Belleville, IL 62220 or by calling
