July 26, 2007 - The Bronzes Of The Brave™ Trademark Approved For Publication by the United States Patent And Trademark Office.
Sam Patterson, Executive Director of Bronzes Of The Brave ™ project, announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has approved his Bronzes Of The Brave™ mark for publication in the Official Gazette.
Members of operation never forget, a copycat organization comprised of former non-voting board members of Mr. Patterson's organization, were alleged to have attempted to steal Mr. Patterson's name and project after being removed from his board for what he deemed to be integrity issues. They registered the Bronzes of the Brave™ domain names and subsequently attempted to steal Mr. Patterson's Project name by filing what was alleged to be a fraudulent Trademark application for the Bronzes Of The Brave™ mark. The United States Patent and Trademark Office has reviewed the application by members of operation never forget and have made a ruling to SUSPEND their application indefinitely, while approving Mr. Patterson's."
"This is a big marker for us" says Woody Degan, Communications Director for The Bronzes Of The Brave™ Project. "It is Federal recognition that we are, in fact, in the right, and further proof and documentation of the continued misrepresentation and alleged fraud on the part of operation never forget members. Mr. Patterson's decision to remove them from our Advisory Board has proven to be very wise. This decision by the USPTO provides us credence and credibility to Mr. Patterson's claims and assertions. You can't control what some disgruntled former employees say about you. We now have federal documentation. Our goal is to honor the brave men and women of these United States, not to degrade ourselves and our project to argue with those who have already been fired from our organization."
