February 09, 2009 - Bronco Baseball Academy (BBA) has officially announced the dates for their annual summer youth baseball camps. The camps will be held at Northgate High School starting June 15. Each of the three camps will be geared to different age groups and focused on the basic fundamentals of baseball. BBA hosts all their camps and clinics at Ted Abbott Field at Northgate High School. Run by Northgate head baseball coach and Athletic Director, Jon Campopiano, the BBA programs maintain a 1:5, 1:7, or 1:10 player to coach ratio depending on the age of the players.
Campopiano is in his 8th season as a varsity head coach and has been a baseball instructor for nearly 20 years. While the coach at Northgate from 1999-2002 and in 2008 and 2009, Campopiano led the varsity team to the NCS post-season each season and reached the NCS Championship Game in 2001 and 2008. Campopiano is assisted at the camps by Northgate Baseball assistant coach Ben Campopiano.
The BBA summer camp #1 will run from June 15-19 and is for advanced 13-15 year olds. This camp is designed to prepare players for high school baseball and is intense, competitive, and focused on teaching players the mental and physical keys to success. This camp runs from 9:00-1:00pm and is $200 per player.
The BBA summer camp #2 will run from June 22-26 and is for 8-12 year olds. This camp is designed to prepare youth players the fundamentals of the game and provide a fun atmosphere with lots of games and competitive events. This camp runs from 9:00-12:00pm and costs $200.
The BBA summer camp #3 will run from June 29-30 and is for 5-7 year olds. This camp is for new baseball players who are just beginning their athletic careers. At this camp, Campopiano and his staff teach the players the basics of the game and how to have fun while playing baseball. This camp runs from 9:00-11:00am and is $100 per player.
