June 04, 2008 - Broadmark, Inc. today announced Explorer Gear, Inc. of Canada has licensed gCAP™, their innovative solution for caps, hats, visors and all types of headwear that securely holds and protects sunglasses, glasses and other items like pencils, pens, flashlights etc. from falling off and becoming lost or damaged. All the other terms of the agreement are confidential.
Explorer Gear is a Canadian corporation located in Markham, Ontario and is licensed by Callaway to manufacture and market Top-Flite™ and many other Global Brands that are distributed to major retailers in Canada and United States. In addition, Explorer Gear has thriving private label and premium businesses. They provide headwear to leading retailers, corporate clients and premium distributors throughout the country.
"We are excited about the introduction of gCAP™ at Explorer Gear," says Rick Flagg, President of Broadmark. "I think both companies recognize the enormous potential to deliver a simple, yet elegant solution to the golf, sports, and premium markets within Canada. gCAP™ easily solves an age old problem of securing your glasses on headwear. We believe that gCAP™ can help Explorer Gear achieve significant increases in sales and profits over the course of the next few years."
"As a leading supplier of quality headwear in the Canadian markets, we quickly saw the advantage to incorporate gCAP™ Technology on our products," adds Kevin Cryer, VP of Sales at Explorer Gear. "This is an innovative solution to protect sunglasses without the use of cords or other gimmicky devices. gCAP™ simply "fits" as an integral component of headwear, one that works and doesn't distract from our designs."
