(1888PressRelease) April 16, 2008 - Brasserie Meteor of France, the only independent brewer from the Alsace region of eastern France, will be taking part in the London Wine and Spirit Fair 2008, which will be held from 20 to 22 May 2008 (Stand H60/6). Alongside the region’s famous wines, visitors to the trade show will also have a chance to sample the products of one of France’s last remaining independent brewers.

Brasserie Meteor is located in Hochfelden, a village in the Ackerland valley near Strasbourg. Since 1640, the brewery has been an independent, business producing quality and innovative beers. The quality of the water used to brew the beer is exceptional, as it comes from the nearby Vosges mountains.

Brasserie Meteor offers a wide range of beers, including lager, abbey beer, wheat beer and seasonal beers. Meteor's most famous beer is the Pils. In 1927, Meteor was the first and only brewery in France to be granted the right to brew an authentic Pils by the Czech authorities. It is brewed only with natural ingredients and following traditional methods. Brewed with fresh water from the Vosges mountains, it is made with the best hops – Strisselpalt from Alsace and the renowned Saaz from the Czech Republic. Meteor Pils is not pasteurised, which means that it should be consumed within eight months of the production date.

The Brasserie’s Blanche de Meteor is a high-fermentation wheat beer with a light floral and lemon flavour. In addition to classic malts, it is brewed with wheat malts.
