June 28, 2008 - MADISON, WISCONSIN, USA – Brainstormers all over the world are currently participating in an international brainstorm competition and putting their ideas to use. BrainReactions, a company focused on innovation through ideation is hosting the competition for Moonjee, a new photo transforming web application. Participants are connecting with other people and sharing ideas as they compete to be one of the top brainstormers. As the ideas roll in, they are posted and counted so everyone has access to the progress they and their fellow brainstormers are making. When the contest ends on July 3rd the top five brainstormers selected by judges will receive cash prizes. Within the first week of the competition, over 70 brainstormers have contributed over 600 ideas.
BrainReactions integrates their web 2.0 application with the company’s extensive global network of brainstormers to generate ideas. With the great outpouring of ideas one might expect that Moonjee will find that one big idea that will help them to become a successful web application, although the power in the process is derived from the whole body of ideas, not just the best single idea. By analyzing the themes and commonalities amongst ideas mentioned in the brainstorm, Moonjee will gain an understanding of the elements that underlie the different user generated ideas. This information will allow them to incorporate important features into their site and better understand the customer they wish to serve. Moonjee’s open call for ideas is an example of crowdsourcing and just another way BrainReactions adds value by connecting idea generators and implementers through tapping into the wealth of knowledge and expertise of their network of brainstormers.
The contest has attracted some talented thinkers and innovators.
