September 05, 2007 - BocaBenningtons.com the internet’s premier online cigar and pipe store announced today that the Boca Raton Pipe Guild was created by Bennington Tobacconist to enable local pipe smokers to gather and smoke their pipes in a relaxed atmosphere. Although created before the anti-smoking law in Florida, it is today one of the few pipe clubs in the United States where the pipe smoker can truly learn about their hobby of choice. President Jim Bennington commented: “Pipe smoking is at least 5000 years old. It’s a hobby created for relaxation, and in many cultures a tool for promoting dialogue.”
The Boca Raton Pipe Guild meets every other month at the Moose Lodge in Deerfield, FL. Where they taste and rate new tobaccos, meet new people, have pipe smoking competitions and personally meet their favorite pipe carvers or master pipe tobacco blenders. Their next meeting will be September 20th, when the club members will be introduced to Pol Winslow’s pipes, in the form of the “Crown” line. And, two of the oldest and most revered British names in the pipe making industry: Dunhill and Stanwell. At the end of this year they will visit Cristom Inc., a world wide known pipe manufacturer and importer, located in Tampa, FL.
