(1888PressRelease) March 01, 2008 - BMTI of France, a specialist in standard blocks and buoys, will be presenting its expertise and innovations at Oceanology International 2008, the trade show to be held in London from 11 to 13 March 2008. For 25 years, BMTI has been designing and developing product ranges and parts made from composite materials and syntactic foam, for use in oceanography, the offshore industry, the manufacturing sector, and naval defence.

Visitors will be able to see for themselves the range of applications that BMTI products can have at the Oceanology International trade show in London in mid-March.

BMTI boasts an R&D department that designs parts made from composite materials, drawing on the company’s skills and expertise in mechanical studies and calculations, and shocks & vibration dimensioning. More particularly, BMTI specialises in making standard blocks from pure syntactic foam, offering products suitable for depth ratings ranging from 1,000 metres to 8,000 metres.

These blocks are easy to machine and are bonded; they constitute a low-cost solution for adapting successfully to the buoyancy constraints linked to oceanographic and offshore projects. What is more, BMTI has a large range of buoyancy products such as modular, spherical, and cylindrical buoys, to meet many different requirements.

BMTI’s product range includes buoyancy collars made of high-performance syntactic foam; cable and umbilical buoyancy products (with latches and hinges for easy locking, as well as bolting solutions offering maximum service reliability); low-drag buoys built around a novel concept that achieves the lowest drag for a given buoyancy, with a high-performance elliptical shape; modular-buoyancy solutions; spherical buoys, which remain the standard solution for oceanographic mooring, when drag reduction is the priority; and, finally, a range of syntactic-foam, factory-made standard blocks (already referred to in this press release).

About BMTI

BMTI of France is headquartered in La Seyne sur Mer, in south-eastern France. The company has a proven track record going back 25 years in the design, creation and development of product ranges and parts made from composite materials and syntactic foam, which have a wide range of applications — from oceanography and the offshore industry to the manufacturing sector. France’s naval-defence capabilities also integrate products and technologies developed by BMTI.

The company will be presenting its expertise and innovations at Oceanology International 2008, the trade show to be held in London (at ExCel, in Docklands) between 11 and 13 March 2008. BMTI will have a stand on the French national pavilion, which will be a UBIFRANCE pavilion.

UBIFRANCE is the French export-support agency, and the French Technology Press Bureau (FTPB) is the London press bureau of UBIFRANCE.
