Bluefield Partners Chawla To Lead Equity Sales Operations
Bluefield Partners has announced that Naveen Chawla will head up equity sales operations at the firm's soon-to-be opened Shanghai offices.
- (1888PressRelease) July 25, 2015 - An internal restructuring at Shenzen, China-headquartered broker-dealer and wealth manager, Bluefield Partners, will see former CIO, Naveen Chawla promoted to Head of Equity Sales with overall responsibility for the firm's primary-dealer operations which will begin trading when new Shanghai offices open in the third quarter of 2015.
He is succeeded as Chief Investment Officer by Joel Cooper who has already assumed his new role at the firm's Hong Kong executive branch.
"I'm thoroughly delighted that the partners have seen fit to entrust me with the responsibility for ensuring the success of our expansion into primary dealer operations. It's a resounding vote of confidence in my ability and I will make every endeavor to reward their faith," said Chawla during an investment briefing.
Chawla is expected to spend the months before the Shanghai office opens focused on the challenge of creating a suitably experienced team that can compete with established players in the hotly-contested IPO market in the Asia Pacific region.
Bluefield Partners would not comment on speculation that it has appointed executive search consultants or "headhunters" to approach individuals or groups of individuals at prospective rival firms. "We're well-known in the secondary market and the fact that we're about to realize our primary dealer ambitions has created something of a buzz in the market. We've been approached by several seasoned players already," admitted Chawla.
Bluefield Partners made its announcement as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' CEO Sergio Marchionne said that the IPO which will sell off 10% of its holding in supercar maker, Ferrari, will be delayed until the fourth quarter of 2015.
