Blue Bee Stores Provide Assistance To Needy Families That Lost Their Homes In The Tea Fires

Blue Bee is supporting the families that have been devastated by the Santa Barbara Tea Fires, by running a special promotion. A portion of the sales from that promotion are donated to the United Way of Santa Barbara Tea Fire Relief Fund.

Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, CA (1888PressRelease) November 22, 2008 - Blue Bee stores announced today that they will help needy families who lost their homes in the Montecito Tea Fires by donating a portion of this weekend’s sales to the United Way of Santa Barbara Tea Fire Relief Fund.

Blue Bee is an established Santa Barbara retailer, known throughout the industry as a premier location for California casual merchandise. The chain offers fashions for men and women, and features such prominent brands ranging from casual designers like James Perse, Da-Nang, Splendid, 7 for all Mankind, Paige, Joe’s Jeans, Great China Wall, and Rogan to collection designers like Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Alice + Oliva, Twelfth Street, Ralph Lauren, and Paul Smith. Blue Bee has several locations on State Street, including Blue Bee Jeans, Blue Bee Mens, Blue Beetle (a men’s casual store), Blue Bee Luxury, and Blue Bee Kids.

“We could see the Tea Fires from our offices, and it was a very emotional experience,” said Blue Bee co-owner Marty Bebout. “We felt we had to do something to help our neighbors through this difficult time. They have supported us by shopping at our stores, so it’s important for us to return the favor.”

To further support this effort, Blue Bee is holding a special sales event featuring Anthony Nak jewelry, a brand that is worn by many celebrities and is known for their iconic architectural designs and chain-link encased pieces. It is hoped that the additional sales from the event will create more donations for struggling families who lost their homes in the fires.

“Santa Barbara is the kind of community that comes together when tragedies like this occur,” continued Bebout. “Our role is to do what we can to support our community, and we are glad that we can help.”

The sale will begin on Friday, November 21 and run through Sunday, November 23.
