May 10, 2007 - Denise Best, owner of Blissful Elegance, believes it’s time for women to luxuriate and get pampered. That’s why the Brooklyn-based event planning firm will be hosting its 2nd annual “Diva for a Day” event, celebrating curvy women and their friends on Saturday, August 18th at Sage Theater in Times Square from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
“Women work so hard being everything to everybody it is time for them to take time for themselves. I hope this day helps women understand the importance of luxuriating,” Says Best.
The seven-hour event will feature on-site mini spa treatments including massages, and facials. In addition, participants will be able to attend a fashion and image workshop, learn proper makeup application and get some sexy belly dancing tips. We will also feature a fashion and comedy show.
Complimentary dessert and wine will also be served.
Attendees will receive the exclusive “Diva Duffle,” a goody bag with more than $50 worth of sponsor products and information.
We have three different tiers to accommodate every Diva 1st tier Diva Deluxe Package: mini spa treatments, complimentary continental breakfast, appetizers, workshops/ seminars, exclusive time with our vendors and priority seating for the fashion show. 2nd Tier VIP Diva Package: appetizers, workshops/ seminars, exclusive time with our vendors and priority seating for the fashion show 3rd tier Just Diva Package: complimentary desserts and admittances to the fashion show.
A portion of the proceeds from “Diva for a Day” will be donated to Voices of Women (VOW) a project of the Battered Women’s Resource Center.
“It’s not just important that women find time to relax,” Best says. “It’s also important that we understand that violence against women should not be tolerated. As a woman and a business owner, I can’t forget about the women who don’t have the time, money or resources to just relax.
