Reverol & Co.LLC, is please to announce its exhibition: Dreaming Black & White by Louie Riso. On view from, July 11 through July 19, 2009.
For this exhibition Louie Riso proceeds to his guiding premise, "that black & white are the colors of dreams and memories are the tint of thoughts.”
With no flash or exterior lighting, and printed to approximately the size of the original works, the pictures remind us that works of art are vivid and present things existing in particular places under concerted conditions. The images metaphor will transfer you to the past and nevertheless be reminiscent the present.
“The photographs are taken in familiar places in New Rochelle where I grew up and there are memories I want to capture with my camera, this places are fading away with time but in my mind they remained the same. I want to emphasize that this is not a documentation of New Rochelle but rather a dream that slowly changes with time like an old picture”.
Louie Riso utilizes a traditional technique to develop his own work. He used non-digital equipment for this exhibit and you can sense it by the feel of the photographs and the emotional reaction it provokes. The exhibition will feature the premier of several works that includes a one print only series.
