July 29, 2007 - The Black Men’s Summit to take place in the nations capitol is receiving support from major celebrities on www.MySpace.com. The summit whose page is at www.myspace.com/blackmenssummit has received support form major celebrities from the hip-hop world such as T-I, Outkasts’ Andre 3000 and Jay-Z as well as media moguls Russell Simmons & Oprah Winfrey. These huge industry names have become FRIENDS to the site, a networking feature of the thriving myspace platform.
“It feels good that other celebrities are interested in supporting a good cause”, says Crystal Parsley-Akor the summits creator. “It shows that they aren’t that far removed from the real issues that face real people in the black community and they actually have a heart!”
The summit, which is to tackle burning topics such as Money. Women. Education. Crime and Jobs just to name a few is expected to draw the masses of black men in Washington DC to discuss in a no-holds barred forum the issues that plague their communities day in and day out.
“Now all we need is my man Bigg Tigger, formerly of BET’s In The Den – who has now returned to WPGC 95.5, (also a friend to the summit) after a long radio hiatus, to be our host. He doesn’t know it yet, but he’s our dream host for his ability to reach the crowd and his cutting-edge style that seems to resonate all too well with DC’s youth,” says Parsley-Akor
