July 30, 2007 - July 2007 marks the launch of the Black Men's Summit blog on myspace.com. The summit is expected to attract major corporations and community oriented organizations as it uplifts the community by having an open dialogue forum in the nations capitol - Washington, DC in Summer of 2008. The summit, conceptualized by a black woman - Crystal Parsley, of Aqua Promos, and a native New Yorker, sets the tone for a cultural change in DC and the nation as whole.
The summit whos page may be found at www.myspace.com/blackmenssummit is designed to attempt to solve social and economic issues in the black community. It will serve as an economic empowerment forum, identifying ways that Black Men can make money, live better lives, and contribute to their communities with their innate abilities and creative talents. The re-entering population will also be served as they will be given tips and assistance on how to re-enter the work force and lead productive lives after their stints in prison.
The summit is slated to be a huge success with the likes of local Universities, DC government entities, and Community organizations agreeing to be a part of history.
