  • New Orleans, LA (1888PressRelease) June 24, 2014 - Black Card Promotion is Houston's elite promoter of exclusive events catering to mature adults with a cosmopolitan taste for the chic and sophisticated. Black Card is promoting what is coined "Purple Reign"; an after concert party for Prince and guest at the Historic Carver Theater on July 4th, 2014. The idea was formed by Black Card Promotions founder Gregory Douglas.

"I grew up and spend a major portion of my adult life in North Minneapolis and had the pleasure to grow up with and around some of the primary people that formed the "Minneapolis Sound", "Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Morris Day, Andre Symone, Sounds of Blackness, Alexander O'Neil, MPLS, Mint Condition and Prince to name just a few. When it was announced that Prince was performing at Essence Festival is made perfect sense for us to put on an event with some people you know from home. The first person I called was Brother Jules! "Brother Jules and I have known each other longer than I care to remember. We have had him to come to Houston do a number of events for us in the past including my birthday weekend. There is no one that could be a better fit to DJ this event than Jules. The rest just came together from there." shares Gregory Douglas founder and Managing Director of Black Card Promotions.

Brother Jules has worked with several recording businesses and artists throughout the years; including, Paisley Park, Bad Boy Records, Blue Flame Marketing, Interscope Records, Deathrow Records, Def Jam, Miramax Films, 20th Century Fox, Orion Pictures, and Tri-Star Pictures. About Brother Jules
Brother Jules by trade has been involved with music since the age of 9, first beginning with small drum lessons. His mother and father were musicians as well; therefore Jules was surrounded by music at all times of the day. Jules had his first DJ gig at First Avenue nightclub in Minneapolis at the age of 15. From then on a "Musical Genius" was born. After rocking a Saturday night at Glam Slam, he was asked by Prince to come out to Paisley Park and do an after set, which he gladly accepted. From that day on, Brother Jules and Prince formed a relationship, which lasted for many years, and many world tours.
