Tammy K. Bean, a certified nursing assistant through Quality Healthcare, has been working in the industry for the past 13 years, since 1996. Inspired as always being a people person, Tammy provides quality long-term care to patients by building healthy relationships with them. She welcomes a challenge and tends to any and all medical conditions, covering rehabilitation to long-term care and individual comfort measures.
Tammy always makes it a priority of maintaining personal care that reflects dignity and safety, keeping in mind that each patient has different needs. "I use many of these ideas in my life and never take for granted people from all walks of life," Tammy said. She said that every one of her patients has a story to tell, especially the elderly. She also admits that it is her patients that make her treasure and value the simple things in life and what they teach her every day.
Tammy holds a Specialist in the Art of Caring Certificate, which she received in 1998 and a Valuable Contributions Program Certificate from 2007. She's won numerous awards including an Exemplify Caring with Dignity and Respect in 2000, Employee of the Month Award in May of 2006, a Career Ladder Award for Exemplary Work Performance and a Star Performance Award in 2007, a Wall Plaque from a patient's family for appreciation in 2007 and a Caregiver of 2008 Award.
In the future, Mrs. Bean would like to use her mentoring and leadership skills to help educate family members of patients and to challenge other nursing technicians in the field to use their heart and whatever talent they were given. She stresses the importance of exemplifying quality in personal care of long-term care patients and continuing to make a difference, one moment and one life at a time.
In her spare time, Tammy enjoys doing little extras for her patients such as outings to the local county fair. She also enjoys gardening and quilting.
