June 28, 2008 - Amityville, New York ~ Sharon R. Carrio was honored among our Executive Professionals in Education this past June and offered membership into the Biltmore Who’s Who organization.
Sharon Carrio, had spent 26 years at Merrill Lynch, She is a survivor of September 11th and now is Dean of Student Services at the Katharine Gibbs School. She has found that in her years of assisting and mentoring employees, and now teaching students, she has learned that being an educator is exactly that.
Upon retiring from Merrill Lynch in November of 2002, Sharon embarked on a second career – Teaching. For the next two years as an adjunct professor, she taught on all levels of college from Associates degree through MBA. Since 2005, Sharon’s role as Dean of Student Services at the Katharine Gibbs School allows her to continue to encourage and spread the spirit of volunteerism to students, faculty and staff. The School sponsors annual Community Service Fairs featuring the March of Dimes and the American Diabetes Association.
Sharon received her undergraduate degree while undergoing much transition at Merrill Lynch. She graduated with a BBS degree in 1994 from MCNY (then Audrey Cohen College.) In addition, she received the first Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997 for her involvement with the school as well as her business accomplishments.
