  • Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY (1888PressRelease) April 09, 2011 - Rochelle E. White, Student at SUNY Plattsburgh, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Rochelle E. White's commitment to excellence in the Criminal Justice field.

White, who holds an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies from Bryant and Stratton College, recently graduated in 2008. Having spent a short time as a paralegal she is now working toward a full-time position in criminal defense.

As a paralegal, White maintained files, interviewed clients, did dictation, prepared motions and other legal documents, attended trials, helped with trial preparation, and even traveled to area jails for client interviews. She also corresponded with judges and other attorneys and legal professionals on a daily basis regarding her clients. With a passion for criminal justice, White is now studying full-time for her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from SUNY-Plattsburgh.

"When you have a passion for something you do well at it," White explained. "I am a hard worker and get my work done on time, something that is so important in this field."

With a lifelong dream to make her family proud, White hopes to someday become a part of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

"My dream job would be to work with serial killers as a profiler or with other offenders," she said. "I would also consider law school to become an attorney or maybe even work as a parole officer."

Setting her goals high, White has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her short career. She has been named to Who's Who Among American High School Students and received certificates of participation for the Legal Club and for the participation in TAP (spell this out) lobbying. She received a Certificate of Merit from Senator Elizabeth Little in 2005, a Certificate of Recognition for Professionalism in 2008, an Outstanding Achievement Award for Paralegal Studies in 2009, and spent all of her school years on the Dean's List. She's a past member of Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society through Stratton College and her local high school National Honor Society. Most recently, in March of 2011, she was inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society. In her free time, Rochelle enjoys swimming and watching her favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.
